All About Water Tank & Its Various Types

Water has always been a very important resource available in the Earth. Out of which only 1% is available for human use, the rest is in the form of glaciers, salty water and deep inside Earth. The water fit for drinking is only one-third part of available water. Therefore, it is equally important to build a water tank for saving and conserving water for better storage and usage.

The idea of storing water is not new, it is actually adopted by our ancestors who use wood, ceramic and stone for creating a reservoir for water. In simple words, water tank is a container build for storing water for the time of scarcity. The stored water in these water tanks is then used for various purposes such as:

  •   Drinking – Water stored in a clean & covered tank is considered fit for drinking.
  •   Cooking & Food preparation
  •   Gardening, Agriculture Farming & Aminal Husbandry
  •   Fire fighting
  •   Washing, bathing and cleaning
  •   Industrial uses – like processing chemicals, leather and many other.

Using Suitable Type of Water Tank

Water storage tanks manufacturers have presented general to space-saving design of the water tank with a choice among its constructing material. The most common type of water tank are available in materials like fiberglass, steel and plastics (polyethylene and polypropylene). In addition, water tanks are also available in materials like stone and earthen pots.

Various types, shapes, sizes and colors of water tanks are being supplied by manufacturers to cater the broad needs of clients. Some of them are discussed below:

How To Select Public Address System

Public address systems include equipment that are used for amplifying the volume of speech so that large number of people can hear the voice. These equipment are mainly used for addressing public with relevant information. Special events like conferences, stage shows, meetings and weddings where a huge crowd need to address, a PA system is preferred.

Public Address System

Setting up of Public Address Systems depend on various factors. Some are, number of people to address, time of an event along with type, area and location of venue. This task can be little daunting for people who are setting up PA system for the first time. Number of questions emerged in their minds while selecting PA systems. Some are,
  • What all equipment do I need?
  • How many loudspeakers do I need?
  • Number & types of sound sources required?
  • How much power will they consume?
To provide assistant, we have gathered information below as a short tutorial. In which, we have explained the basic components of PA system along with their purpose. A Public address system has three components – a pickup device like a microphone, an amplifier and a loudspeaker.

Heat Exchangers – An Overview

Heat Exchangers installed in industries and factories drift fumes outside to make the environment work-friendly. These equipment permit efficient transfer of heat between two or more fluid (liquid, gas or solid substance) as well as save energy. This is one of the reasons behind installing of heat exchangers in factories, engines of cars, ships and planes. In addition, heat exchangers are useful in space heating, power stations, petrochemical plants, processing of natural gas and treatment of sewage. The domestic uses of heat exchangers includes working of air conditioners and refrigerators.

Importance of Air Receiver in Industry

Air Receiver is an integral part of compressed air system which is used for storing compressed air, being produced by the compressor. In air delivery system, an air receiver acts as a buffer which regulate the high demand of air for short periods, thereby allowing compressed air system to perform efficiently.

Various industries, factories, garages and assembly lines have installed compressed air systems for streamlining their production effectively. With the aid of air receivers, one can effectively operate tools to manufacture products as well as maintaining cleanliness at work spaces. However, using an unsound quality of air receivers can be very dangerous as they experience immense pressure while in operation. Air receivers must be durably designed that is capable of handling pressures of everyday use as well as last for years to come.

Pulse Oximeters – A Helping Hand In Health Care

Monitoring oxygen saturation in patients blood is crucial from treatment point of view. A number of health-care establishments make use of pulse oximeter for measuring oxygen level of the patient's blood along with the pulse rate. As the device is non-invasive a provide a convenient method for monitoring the quality of oxygen being transported to different parts of the body; such as legs, arms, brain and more. Moreover, pulse oximeters alert the health-care assistants if there is fall in oxygen level or pulse rate; thereby allowing rapid intervention.

Benefit of Using Pulse Oximeters
Easy to use
Compact in size
Non-Invasive
Can be used at home
Detect hypoxaemia
Comes handy in noisy environment
Provide accurate readings
Reasonable & affordable

Pulse oximeters is a clip-like device which is either placed on finger or ear lobe (leg in case of infants) for providing level of blood's oxygen in a pain-less manner. The device is capable of providing accurate readings in varied humid conditions along with many settings like during surgery, in an emergency, routine check-up, during treatment, recovery follow-up and in patient's intensive care. The health-care assistants rely on the reading of pulse oximeters for making the decision of providing extra oxygen to the patient.

Principle Behind Working of Pulse Oximeter

The technology associated behind the working of pulse oximeters is complicated and involve two basic principles. The device generates light through the finger to measure the arterial oxygen saturation of haemoglobin. The sensors in the pulse oximeters can easily detect the absorption of light at two different wavelengths and degree of oxygenation of haemoglobin.
Secondly, the change in volume of arterial blood with effect of each pulse generates pulsatile component. The microprocessors present in pulse oximeters detect this pulsatile component as well as distinguish them from non-pulsatile component. The reading is then displayed as a number on the screen of oximeters that provide a percentage of oxygen molecules present in patient's blood.

Pulse Oximeters – The Scope of Usage

Portable and simple, the pulse oximeter is all-in-one monitor which provide reading regarding oxygenation of blood, pulse rate and rhythm regularity. The pulse oximeters come handy while transporting patients from one hospital to another or home to hospital. Wherein, it is not easy to hear the auible tone to judge the patient's cardio-respiratory status.
There are three types of pulse oximeters – Fingertip Pulse Oximeter, Handheld Pulse Oximeters and Fetal Pulse Oximeters. Fingertip Pulse Oximeter are often use at home as they are easiest to operate. Hospitals and health care institute mainly use Handheld pulse oximeter for monitoring the oxygen saturation of blood. Fetal Pulse Oximeter is specially designed check the heart beats and oxygen saturation of baby during labor.
